Evaluation Question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

I have learnt how to use editing software in a confident manner and how to continue to find ways to improve my magazine and make it the best product possible. I have hugely improved my knowhow of Adobe Photoshop and learnt many tools that have enhanced my product. I also learned that there are many platforms in which I can showcase my work for example SlideShare, Emaze etc. Another thing I’ve learned is how to use InDesign; this was a program that I had never tackled before.  Using my style model this has gave me a rough idea on a colour scheme that would work for my magazine and what things I could add onto my magazine cover, contents page and article.

Evaluation Question One

Evaluation Question One:

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

To create my music magazine I based it on a real life magazine of a similar genre. The magazine I used to compare with is ‘Kerrang’. This is an example of a Kerrang front cover:

Both ‘Kerrang’ and my music magazine include artists at the bottom of page to entice the reader and include an image of the main band I’m using as well as their band name in bold.
